Matt Cici

Matt Cici - Director, Executive Producer, Co-Writer, Editor

Matt Cici makes his feature film directorial debut with LAMBENT FUSE. He also co-wrote the screenplay with David Marketon. The two won a grant in the sumer of 2009 for the screenplay LAMBENT FUSE, which allowed them to flesh out the characters and plot.

Cici grew up making films for school with his brother. They rented equipment from Northwest Community Television and started shooting shorts soon after. His passion for filmmaking spawned from his inner sense to capture truth and display it on the screen. Cici attended North Hennepin Community College (NHCC) and took a few classes in filmmaking. He created “Eidolon,” a 30-minute short, about a man with schizophrenia, wrestling for control, during his first collegiate spring break. The film won him praise and allowed him the opportunity to win several scholarships. Just before graduating, Cici partnered up with professors Jack Nist and Jenny Hanson to create NHCC’s first film class and club: The North Star Film Project. Cici then graduated from Hamline University with his own developed Film Studies major.

He has previously won international acclaim with a few of his short films. These include “The Writer,” a short experimental film about a novelist struggling with writer’s block, which won the Augsburg Fine Arts Award in 2008, as well as the Phi Theta Kappa’s Video Arts Award in 2008.
